RYCA, aka Ryan Callanan, lives and works in London, UK, and is a contemporary artist. RYCA combines Street Art, popular culture, and current affairs to create what he calls a ‘Poptarian’ style. We love the playful jokes and political references used in each RYCA artwork, creating accessible and refreshing compositions.
On his creative process, he has said: “I’m interested in studying, discovering, and experimenting with various processes and technological advances.”
RYCA chose his moniker after producing his first set of 3D smiley faces, emblematic of the 1980s Acid Rave culture. The artist has a background in printing and pub sign-making. RYCA is one of Art Republic’s most sought after artists and has been exhibited widely in the UK, and abroad, in Miami, Los Angeles, Japan, and Barcelona.
