Ricky Also
Ricky Also's passion for typography, color, and layout is rooted in his background in graffiti art and graphic design. He combines these influences to create organized artworks from words and phrases that intersect in multiple layers. Using exaggerated and manipulated letterforms, he creates a unique sense of movement and rhythm. Most of his work takes the form of painted murals, where he experiments with scale and the concept of using oversized graphics to transform spaces and environments. Ricky started painting in the late '80s in Southampton and has since traveled, lived in Sydney and London, and now works on a variety of national projects through his creative studio, Paintshop Studio.
